The weekly compendium 13/02/2015

Oooooo it's Friday 13^th of February and if you're not near any large bodies of water, you'll probably be safe and going about your business as usual... if you are, you may be due a visit from a guy in a hockey mask, holding a machete. In that case you may definitely want to check out what we've had in store for you this week... while you still can! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!

We kicked the week off with an interview with former Goteki mainman and electronic music wizard Ross Tregenza as we got the lowdown on his first full-length solo album. We had a live review of Savage Messiah in Stoke courtesy of Dokka. The reviews had an Italian flavour this week as we looked at the latest releases from XP8 and Dope Stars Inc. Before gorging on a HUGE compilation from D-Trash Records. We then rounded things off with an Editorial from me and a column from Joel Heyes where we get stuck into horror movies... again.

Over on Facebook we saw a new trailer for Amphi festival which is shaping up to be a great line-up. There are also new videos from King Pest, 1919, The Last Dance, and Laibach. The Resistanz festival is also looking pretty tight as well. And finally if you fancy taking on Orgy's new logo, check out our page.

That's it for this week. Thankfully there's no need to do and RIP for anyone this week, so here's what we had for you.

We kicked the week off with End: The DJ choosing his favourite music of 2014. And we courted controversy with one final interview with XP8 who are bowing out with their last EP. We had reviews of the new releases from Broken Links, Josef Nadek and Celluloide. As well as news from En Esh and Apoptygma Berzerk.

While over on Facebook we had new videos from In Death It Ends, 3Teeth, Code, and Garek. There was more news from Infest and Alien Sex Fiend. New music from Cathedra. Emigrate, and Aphex Twin.

The weekly compendium 30/01/2015

That's the end of another week at Intravenous Magazine and we're already 1/12^th of the way through the year. If you haven't already downloaded the compilation album, makes sure you do and check those awesome bands out.

In other news, here's what we had for you this week.

We kicked the week off with our best picks of 2014 – a little later than most zines, but we really had to have a good think as there were so many great albums released last year. We had reviews of the latest albums from The Mekano Set, Crest Of Darkness, AtariTeenage Riot and a great compilation from the Unsound America label. There was also festival announcements from Amphi Festival and Eurorock.

Over on facebook we had new videos from Rave The Requiem, and Mankind Is Obsolete. New music from XP8, Gothsticulate and 3Teeth. As well as news from Infest, Paradise Lost, and In Death It Ends.

Finally there was the sad news that Edgar Froese, founding member of the legendary Tangerine Dream has sadly died. Intravenous Magazine would like to take this time to pass on our condolences to his family. RIP.

The weekly compendium 23/01/2014

That's it for another action-packed week here at Intravenous Magazine. If you haven't tuned in so far this week, here's a run down of what you missed.

This week was marked by the sad passing of Russian vocalist Origa, who was famous for her work on video games and anime including Final Fantasy and Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Intravenous Magazine would like to extend our condolences to her family at this sad time.

We kicked things for with another 'Introducing' feature on a new band, this time it was the turn of G.L.O.W. to stand in the spotlight. We had reviews of the new albums from Justin Symbol, Into The Ether, and The Gothsicles. There was also news from Mind.In.A.Box and Laibach. We also had a look at the début novel from Sarah Channing Wright 'The Angels Of Islington'.

Over on Facebook, we saw Vorteque launch a crowdfunding campaign for his next album. Beauty Queen Autopsy released a live track. Laibach dropped a new video for 'No History'. Atari Teenage Riot unleashed a new EP. Also Zardonic released a free to download remix and announced a tour alongside DJ Starscream (AKA Sid Wilson of Slipknot). Finally Dope Stars Inc. previewed a new track from their forthcoming album.

The weekly compendium 16/01/2014

That's it for another week here at Intravenous Magazine. I'll keep this brief as I'm about to jump in the car and head to Sheffield to catch Korn and Slipknot at the Motorpoint Arena.

We kicked things off with a review of the new Marilyn Manson album 'The Pale Emperor'. We had the usual monthly editorial before getting our teeth into the new offerings from Ogenix and Essence Of Mind. Joel Heyes then wrapped things up with another great column.

On Facebook we saw Project Pitchfork have been confirmed for this year's Infest. Vourteque has uploaded some previews of his forthcoming album. The Prodigy have unleashed a new music video for 'Nasty'. Marilyn Manson's new album is streaming. And there is a new video from Mater Susperia Vision.

This is the first weekly round-up of 2015! I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year?

Right, so what did we have for you this week? Well we kicked things off with a news story on our delightful new compilation (naturally). And followed this with reviews of the new releases from Bat Nouveau, Aesthetische, Mondträume, and Zardonic. We also had a look at a great new H.P. Lovecraft biography by Paul Roland.

Over on Facebook, Cocksure have been confirmed for this year's Infest! Till Lindemann and Peter Tagtgren are launching a side-project simply called Lindemann. Comaduster revealed the track list for the forthcoming album. Frozen Plasma dropped another album trailer on us. LeVant gave us a music video for the track 'Sideways'. The line-up for this year's Sacrosanct festival has been announced. And there was a reminder for our US readers about next month's Florida Underground Industrial Music Festival.

The weekly compendium 19/12/2014

Well this is it! The last compendium of 2014! Another year under our belt and over 900 articles published on this humble blog-zine. It has been a good ride this year, and 2015 looks like it will be a bloody good one to! But that's the future... here's the recent past.

We kicked of the week in style with an interview with Athan Maroulis of Noir. We introduced a new act in N.Fushigi. We also had reviews of the new releases from The Dreaming, Vuduvox, XMH and Einsturzende Neubauten.

Over on Facebook we had a new single from Marilyn Manson. News from Concrete Lung. Videos from Blue Eyed Christ and Wednesday 13. Christian Death are launching a crowd-funding campaign. Al Jourgensen of Ministry dug a rarity out of his archives. And Laibach updated their tour dates.

The weekly compendium 12/12/2014

I've officially finished my Christmas shopping this week so I'm enjoying a well-earned sense of smug relief as I write this weeks round-up of all things IVM related.

We kicked things off with an awesome interview with Jonathan Casey AKA Johnny Violent of Ultraviolence courtesy of Dokka. There was a new column from Joel Heyes in which he defends some pretty indefensible albums! We also had a live review of the Fields Of The Nephilim's Saturday night performance at the Shepherds Bush Empire. There were also reviews of the new albums from Double Eyelid and Velvet Acid Christ to end the week.

Our facebook page has been a bit quiet but we did see a new video from The Danse Society, news that Killing Joke's next album is on the way, and that Dope Stars Inc.'s next album has unfortunately been delayed.

Right. That was a quick update. I'm off to go sort out some of the artwork for the next 'Blood Pack' compilation. We've got near enough all the tracks back now and it is a pretty cool and esoteric track list that is going to interest a fair few people. I'm looking forward to the finished product and I hope everyone enjoys it!

The weekly compendium 05/12/2014

Yes, yes, I know there was no compendium last week. What with the Orgy gig on the Wednesday, everything fell behind. But we were back with a vengeance this week!

We kicked off with a review of said Orgy gig, as well as a brand new Editorial column from yours truly. We followed that up with a look at the latest releases from Concrete Lung, The Gothsicles, MadTarot & John Hadrian-Oak, and Mass Hypnosis. And we also had some good news for ESO fans.

Over on Facebook we had new music from M‡яc∆ll∆. There's also a campaign to get Iron Maiden's 'Number Of The Beast' to the Christmas number 1 spot – love em' or hate em', you have to admit its better than Take That, The X Factor or that god-awful rehash of the classic Band Aid single. There's been new videos from Rabia Sorda, Velvet Acid Christ, Dope Stars Inc, and The Soft Moon.

The weekly compendium 21/11/2014

It's the end of another week and Christmas is in sight. I've not exposed myself to the twee television adverts and tacky town centre celebrations so I'm still actually not run down by other people's festive BS just yet. However I am run down with a cold which has further delayed my ability to follow up on some interview requests. So those will be coming as soon as I've got chance to thrash some questions out to everyone.

Anyway, here's what we had for you this week.

We kicked things off with another great column from Joel lamenting the lack of good serial killers these days. We then reviews galore with the new releases fromMegaherz, Totem Obscura, Avarice In Audio, Black Nail Cabaret, and Dani'el. We also kicked off our new 'IVM Introducing...' section for fresh new bands. So check that out as well!

Over on Facebook we had video trailers for the Florida Underground Industrial Music Festival, as well as the returning Eurorock Festival. KMFDM announced a new live DVD. Front Line Assembly gave us a new video. While Haujobb dropped some new music. And the mighty Fields Of The Nephilim announced they will return to next years Bram Stoker Film Festival!

It's November! Halloween and Bonfire night have come and gone. We're hurtling fast towards Christmas and the New Year. But don't fret just yet if you're lamenting the start of your Christmas shopping, we've got a few distractions for you...

We kicked the week off with the sad news that former Static-X frontmanWayne Static had died suddenly. We then presented some better news from the returning Eurorock festival, and Amphi festival, as well as news of a new Funker Vogt single. We kicked off the reviews with a look at Natasha Scharf's new book 'The Art Of Gothic', and had a listen to new music from Nightmares and 808s, W.A.S.T.E and 3Teeth. AND reported from Deathstars' gig in Manchester!

With all these articles on the main body of the website our Facebook page has been a little neglected this week, but we saw the news that VNV Nation have pulled out of their North American tour with Skinny Puppy. And we saw how next year's ResistanzFestival is shaping up.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! It is finally here, goth Christmas etc. We've been pushing the Halloween theme hard this week with plenty of articles and treats for you. So let's see what was in our bag this week...

We kicked things off with part 2 of our look at silent horror films, before getting our hands on the new book from Andi Harriman and Marloes Bontje 'Some Wear Leather, Some Wear Lace'. We had reviews of the latest offerings from Tregenza, Aengeldust, and Bella Morte. News from Ost+Front. And a couple of Halloween themed articles looking at extreme music videos, and a round up of ideas for you to get in the mood this Samhain.

Over on Facebook we had new music from Uninvited Guest, The Dagons and Marilyn Manson. Computer games from Synthellic Music (home of Android Lust), and Faderhead's long awaited playable version of their 'Fist Full Of Fuck You' video. The weekly compendium 17/10/2014

Over halfway through the month now, so I imagine there are a fair few of you out there gearing up for the Bram Stoker Film Festival and Whitby Goth Weekends which are fast approaching... Though that double whammy is the signal for the end of the year, there are still plenty of things going on in November and December before Christmas hits, so hopefully you won't spend all your hard earned cash all in one place!

The big news this week was the tragic passing of electronic artist and producer Mark Bell of LFO fame. The announcement came via Warp Records on Monday evening that Bell had died following complications from surgery. His work with LFO as well as a producer, remixer and collaborator with acts such as Depeche Mode, Erasure and Bjork has had a profound impact on electronic music in the UK and internationally. Intravenous Magazine would like to express our condolences to Mark Bell's family at this difficult time.

On the website this week we had plenty of news stories from the likes of Garden Of Delight, Ludovico Technique, The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, and Cygnets. As well as reviews of the latest releases from Hanzel Und Gretyl, This Sect, Us Amongst The Rest, and Digitalis Purpurea.

The weekly compendium 10/10/2014

Well we passed the 1000 likes mark on facebook so I thought that I'd celebrate by giving the site and the social network hangouts a little upgrade. If you're wondering what has changed there is just a new background and banner on the site while places like facebook and twitter etc. have go new profile pictures and toppers. I think they look nice and creepy and I hope you all agree :)

Now, aside from new graphic alterations what else did we have for you this week... ah yes! We kicked off with an Editorial column from yours truly updating you on the next compilation. We also had reviews of the new albums from Godflesh, Voicecoil, Youth Code and Monomorte. Joel Heyes returned with a vampire themed column. And we had news from Out Of Line Music as well.

It's the end of another week but the start of another month. It's been a slow week due to a vague sense of fatigue I've been unable to shake off all week, but we did have some great articles for you to get stuck in to.
